State Support for Marriage – Dowry Account

Bank applications for dowry account support carried out by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services will start on 17 April 2019 and the first payments will be made in May.

Those who make a payment to their dowry account by saving for 3 years are entitled to receive a state subsidy if they get married before the age of 27.

Since it is a requirement to marry before the age of 27, those under the age of 24 can open an account. A dowry account can be opened by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of those under the age of 18.

The monthly deposit can vary between the lower limit of 155.26 lira and the upper limit of 1552.65 lira. The right to withdraw from the account is granted twice in a period.

Around 22350 participants in 15 banks have opened dowry accounts so far. While the money accumulated in the account generates a monthly interest income, it is also possible to receive an extra state contribution at the end of three years. Couples can open dowry accounts separately and receive state subsidies . In this way, 18 thousand lira support can be provided.
